It improves your vision

Anti-Reflective coating, often called AR coating or anti-glare, is one of the most popular lens coatings in the world. Not only does it improve your vision, it also improves the appearance of your eye glasses. The benefits lie in the how the coating eliminates glare from the front and back of your lens. Generally speaking, the higher the index of refraction, the more light will be reflected from the surface of the lens. So, if you’re in the market for hi-index or polycarbonate lenses, AR coating is something you don’t want to skip because both types of lenses reflect more light than the standard CR-39 plastic lens.

A clearer vision

With today’s technology, 99.5% of light can pass through a pair of glasses with a premium AR coating. By eliminating glare, your eyes are better protected and your vision will be clearer with a simple coating. Additionally, by getting rid of the glare found on most lenses, people will actually be able to see your eyes through your glasses! This makes your eyes more visible in pictures and your vision sharper when driving. If you’re an avid fan of the sun, you may want to add the AR coating to your sunglasses as well to keep the sun’s glare from falling into your eyes from the back part of your lens

Make computer usage more comfortable

Did you know that the glare caused by your computer screen can cause headaches and eye strain – even if you’re wearing eyeglasses? It’s the top reason for so many people developing Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) as well! By adding on the microscopically thin layers to your blue light glasses, it can get rid of glare, and make computer usage a lot more comfortable.

Easy taking care of

  • Taking care of your glasses that have an anti-reflective coating is relatively easy.

  • Wet your glasses down with tepid water (hot water can cause the coating to peel; while cold water can cause the coating to crack).

  • Using the cleaning cloth that came with your glasses, lightly rub off the excess water until the frames are dry and clean.

  • Never try to clean the lens with a dry cloth without wetting the lens first – it can cause abrasions and scratches.

  • Additionally, avoid harsh soaps (or soap altogether) because the chemicals can strip the lens of the AR coating – leaving you with a nearly unusable glasses frames.
